There are white marshmallowey looking puffballs in my yard?
when you step on them black stuff comes out of them, I first thought they where pieces of burnt charcoal from our outdoor grill cause thats what they look like, but there not,what type of fungus is it and is it poisonous I have young kids?
Sounds like a common mushroom that grew in m yard as a kid. We called them smoke bombs. Unless any of your children are allergic to mushroom spores, these are notdangerous. Don’t let them eat them, just to be safe.BUt we used to stomp on them as kids because it was fun.
